Timing for a California sender
Two warehouses keep two clocks: New Jersey on Eastern time, Los Angeles on Pacific. Each cut-off below is turned into Pacific time for today. You pick the recipient's delivery date at checkout; the cut-offs only decide the earliest date the checker offers.

When can it arrive?

Gifts leave our New Jersey or Los Angeles warehouse, whichever serves the address: orders placed by 2 p.m. Eastern in New Jersey or 12:30 p.m. Pacific in Los Angeles go out the same business day. Same-day hand delivery runs only where the checker answers local — in parts of New York City, North Jersey and the Los Angeles area — when the order is in by 11 a.m. in that city's own time. The charge depends on the recipient's ZIP: for most addresses the checker lists ground delivery at no charge, in some western areas (Arizona and Washington State among them) it lists only a paid courier rate, and a same-day charge shows at checkout.

When must I order to have it go out today?
For a courier delivery, by 2 p.m. Eastern (New Jersey) or 12:30 p.m. Pacific (Los Angeles), Monday to Friday. Same-day is only for eligible gifts in parts of New York City, Northern New Jersey and the Los Angeles area: by 8 a.m. PDT your time around New York City and Northern New Jersey, 11 a.m. PDT your time around Los Angeles.
Whose sales tax applies?
The recipient's, worked out from the delivery address, not California's. Checkout shows it before you pay.
Whose ZIP goes in the checker?
Theirs. The checker and the checkout both work from the recipient's ZIP; yours only goes on the billing form.
Can I order now for after the birth?
Yes. Choose a later date at checkout — handy when the baby hasn't arrived yet; the cut-offs only set the earliest one. Closed days are skipped.
Will they see what I paid?
No. The gift message carries your words and your name as you write them; your address, card and the price stay off the delivery.
